About Us
Aaron and Tara Brown
We met at, of all places, church volleyball in the fall of 2001 at Faith Evangelical Church in Loveland, CO. Aaron thought, “Wow, that girl can spike! She’s competitive…and good looking to boot. I hope she comes back again next week so we can talk more.” Tara didn’t think anything about Aaron.
A few months later during a ski retreat, Aaron dug deep into his “charm bucket” and pulled out, “What color are your eyes? They’re green aren’t they?” To which Tara thought, “Has he been staring at me?” A few months later we were a happy couple. A few months after that Tara started talking “game plan” for life, to which Aaron responded, “Huh?” A few months later Tara went to Africa for a month. Aaron sat at home and thought about her. A few months after that Tara went to New Zealand for six months. Aaron sat at home and thought about her. Then he started reading pink-covered books with titles like “So, you think you’ve found the one.” So, a few months–and a lot of prayers–later, Aaron flew down to New Zealand, waited for the opportune moment–camping in a tent and sitting in pajamas–and asked Tara to marry him. She said yes.
We held a lovely wedding on August 7, 2003 at Lionsgate in Lafayette, CO with our family and friends. Since then, Tara has completed two degrees, an undergraduate in Human Development and Family Studies, and a graduate in Occupational Therapy–both from Colorado State University. Aaron has worked at Group Publishing, Kona Boys, and Red Rocket Media Group, doing everything from Marketing to Product Development to Research to Management.
Our beautiful daughter Autumn Keanna was born to us in the fall of 2009 and is, of course, a precious joy. We also have a dog–half black lab, half dachshund (the mom was the dachshund and no, we don’t know how that happened).
We call Loveland, CO our home, although a few others spots across the country come in at a close 2nd.
